Stuff happens, how we deal with it matters

Yes, stuff happens, although some might say sh*t happens, right?
Let's call a spade a spade, I'm German after all, there's no beating around the bush.
I recently came across this poem by a friend I met on a Five Rhythm holiday many years ago.

When I read this poem, I immediately thought of TRE and my clients – potential clients as well as current and past clients.
I’m curious if this poem resonates with you.
Life happens to all of us. Uninvited, unexpected, unfiltered.
Sometimes it's a small event such as a harsh word, a misunderstanding or a missed deadline.
Other times it can feel huge and unbearable: a separation, a diagnosis, a loss.
The real question is: How do we deal with it?
The poem suggests three options:
We can be apathetic — numbing ourselves to the experience.
We can react — impulsively, from a place of fear or overwhelm.
Or we can pause and respond — consciously, with awareness.
As a TRE Provider, this resonates deeply with me.
TRE isn’t about stopping life from happening, but it can help us deal with the response to life’s happenings.
It’s about creating space in the body so that we can move from automatic reactivity to meaningful, embodied response.
This is where freedom begins.
And this can be the beginning of true resilience.
Yes, you've heard it before, but I say it again:
Key to almost everything is a well-regulated nervous system.
This is where TRE comes in so beautifully.
As a somatic practice, TRE allows us to process not just the mental stories, but the physiological imprint of what happened.
Our bodies hold the charge of the events long after our minds have rationalised or forgotten:
That back pain
That head ache
That tight jaw
That tummy trouble
That shallow breath
That tiredness we can’t explain
That lack of sleep
That anxiety
That (menopausal) irritability
That anger
That feeling of being constantly on edge
That relationship struggle
That [insert your own challenge/s]
When we work with the body in a gentle, innate and natural way and without forcing anything, we allow the body to discharge the stored tension from stress, trauma or overwhelm.
And in that release, a new kind of clarity and possibility can emerge.
We’re no longer stuck in loops of overwhelm, helplessness or reaction, instead we can respond in a calm and composed manner.
Aches, pains, anxiety, anger and many other symptoms can ease or disappear.
Although – as always – this is not a promise, this is based on client feedback and clients' experiences.
And also on my own.
If you'd like to explore TRE further, I'm here to guide you safely so that you can learn this TREmendous tool for life.
It's not about treating you or – even worse – 'fixing' you, it's about inviting you back into your own body's wisdom.
TRE isn’t a treatment. It’s a tool.
If you are wondering:
Why does this [event] still affect me?
If you’ve had enough of analysing and repeating your story and yet still feel dysregulated.
If you've been told your aches and pains are not real.
Maybe it’s time to explore the felt story, the one beneath the words.
If you are curious about meeting yourself, not just with your mind but with your body, I invite you to take your next step by booking a free 15-minute call.
When you do, you've taken the first step to explore healing.
Please note, this is NOT a sales call.
I only work with you if you are ready to take ownership of your health and well-being, if you want to gain a healing tool, rather than being treated or expecting a quick fix.
Because yes, stuff happens. But it's about what we choose to do with it.
