The real antidote to our tech-dependent world

Are you listening to the Today programme on BBC Radio 4?
Maybe you are too young?
When I first moved to the UK (I was 34) and was keen to improve my English, I was recommended listening to it, but didn't find it interesting, now I could – more or less – listen to it all day long. Is that because I'm now 24 years older?

Anyway, I found today's Thought for the Day particularly poignant as it was about the power cuts in Spain and Portugal and the realisation how much we depend on electricity and technology.
Technology can be a distraction, it can rule our lives, some are addicted to it.
The French anarchist theologian Jacques Ellu was quoted:
“The problem with technology is that it comes to mediate everything we do in the name of efficiency. And because of this something about simply being is lost.”
As an aside – he only lived until 1994, I wonder what he'd say about our relationship with technology nowadays.
Anyway, the point I want to make is ...
... that I've had many clients who bought every gadget, every app to help them de-stress. It did the trick for a wee while and after the novelty wore off, these gadgets gathered dust.
When they learned TRE and realised that we really have everything we need inside us, it was an eye-opener for them.
I wonder how the people in Spain and Portugal felt ...
... it must have been scary because of the uncertainty, what if somebody was stuck in a lift or desperate to buy something urgently, but the e-payment didn't work and the cash was in the ATM, rather than the purse.
Or it could have been very relaxing indeed, I've heard of people who simply left their desks, enjoyed nature, went for walks, did some gardening or cleaning and felt extremely free, alive and much lighter without the constant urge to check whatever updates are important.
TRE is such a TREmendously amazing gift ...
... if you are in distress you know you can 'simply' shake it off (and you don't have to get on a mat, you can tremor on public transport or in meetings).
And if you are practising TRE on a regular basis – you are most certainly building up resilience and are much more able to face stressful situations in a calmer and more composed way.
The secret behind all that?
A well-regulated nervous system.
And: Simply being.
So if that resonates with you – or if your gadgets are also gathering dust – let's have a chat about your TREmendously amazing body and how it can support you in so many different situations.
Simply get in touch or book a fact-finding chat.
Remember, all good things start with a conversation.
Natura. Innate. TREmendous.
