Why TRE isn’t competing with a ten-grand massage chair

Well, it doesn’t need to.
You'll find and choose, what's right for you.
Recently, someone in my meditation* group shared that he and his friend had been testing a high-end massage chair, full of cutting edge, scientifically proven technology.

He described it like a work of wonder:
It's gently vibrating, it feels like a massage treatment, you'll experience full-body relaxation, it's supporting the nervous system, easing stress and anxiety, aches and pains … and provides a fabulous good night sleep.
It sounded like a fancy sales brochure.
And as I was listening, I realised I wasn’t comparing or judging.
I was simply noticing how different the approaches are.
Because while the chair offers something external and technological … ... TRE offers something deeply internal and already yours.
And we all gravitate towards different things.
Some people genuinely want apps, tools and gadgets.
Others prefer treatments or hands-on support.
And some feel a quiet pull toward something more natural and innate.
And all of these paths are valid and good.
I didn’t realise how much tension I was carrying
until it started to melt away.
I feel lighter and more grounded now.”

Different tools for different people
There are people who reach for painkillers when headaches or migraines hit.
People who book physio or chiropractic appointments when their backs play up.
People who want to talk things through with a counsellor or psychologist.
People who love apps, gadgets, machines … anything technological that can step in and 'fix' something for them.
With all these options, you can feel like the proverbial kid in a sweet shop.
We live in an era of innovation: all kinds or apps, gadgets or massage chairs promise ease with the push of a button.
It sounds so easy.
And so tempting to just rely on the button to start the process and then life is good again.
And honestly?
If that works, I’m genuinely happy for them.
Absolutely.
But there is also another group.
People who quietly think:
'I’ve already tried everything … There must be something deeper, something I can do for myself.'
Those are usually the people who find their way to TRE.
Why TRE stands apart in a soft, quiet and maybe even understated way:
It doesn’t promise quick fixes.
It doesn’t promise miracles.
And it doesn’t position TRE against anything else.
What TRE truly offers is this:
A simple, natural way for your body to let go of built-up tension … in its own timing, in its own wisdom.
And as a result of this, all kinds of symptoms can ease or disappear.
But that's not a promise, that's a natural possibility.
What I can also promise is that:
I teach TRE safely, gently and in a trauma-informed way.
“Sylvia guided me so gently that my body just took over :
Shaking, releasing, softening.
I didn’t have to ‘do’ anything.
It was such a relief to finally feel ease.”
Steve
So, TRE works from the inside out.
Not because a machine vibrates for you … but because you allow your body’s own intelligent vibration to emerge from within.
TRE doesn’t create dependence.
It creates capacity and empowerment.
You’re not waiting for an appointment or a device.
You don’t need a chair, a subscription or a button to press.
Your body becomes your tool.
Your inner wisdom becomes your resource.
I often say:
TRE isn’t a gadget. It’s your body remembering itself.
The tremors arise from within, especially in your legs, pelvis, and psoas muscle (also called muscle of the soul), following an innate reflex we all developed in the womb.
This is your system completing stress cycles in a natural, organic way.
No machine can replicate that.
And it doesn’t need to.
Because TRE comes from you.
“Wow.
That’s the word.
I walked into the session full of tension
and walked out lighter and much calmer.”
Kirsty
If this approach resonates…
If you feel a gentle 'yes' somewhere in your body …
If you’re curious about an approach that doesn’t rely on technology, pressure or performance …
If you’d love to feel empowered rather than managed …
I’m here for you and invite you to have a conversation, simply reach out.
No pressure.
No convincing.
Just a gentle chat where you can get a sense of me and whether TRE feels right for you.
And if you’re perfectly happy with what you’re already doing … I’m happy for you.
But if a part of you whispers, 'I want to be able to help myself' … then TRE might be the bridge you’ve been looking for.
A final note
TRE isn’t a magic wand, and I’ll never pretend it is.
But it is a powerful way to support your body in supporting you.
Natural. Innate. TREmendous.

*yes, I join this group on a (more or less) weekly basis, although as you know, I call TRE a meditation for people who can't sit still (oh, and this might be a good topic for another blog post)
